Hi! I’m Alyssa and this is my first post on the Snuggle Bugz blog. I live in Calgary, Alberta with my husband and son who we welcomed in January 2013, and today I’m chatting about my stroller!

“What kind of stroller do you have? Do you love it?”

It’s a conversation I’ve had with almost all of my mom friends. Strollers are one of the biggest investments expectant parents make ahead of their little one’s arrival, so it’s not surprising that I find myself chatting about my stroller choice on an almost weekly basis.

We have the Baby Jogger City Mini GT. And yes, I love it!

For me and my family, this is the perfect stroller. However, I’m always sure to qualify my rave review with the simple fact that it might not be for everyone. The City Mini GT is not for you if you want to jog or if you plan to use your stroller to cart more than a couple items home from the local store. The compact stroller can’t do everything, but that which it’s designed to do, it does remarkably well.

The City Mini GT’s size was the reason we purchased it a couple months ahead of Grayson’s arrival. It’s sturdy enough to comfortably seat Grayson (and any future children) until he reaches 65 pounds, but small and agile enough to take almost anywhere.

We do a fair bit of traveling as a family, and this stroller eliminated the need to buy an umbrella stroller for plane and car trips. It’s relatively lightweight, but more importantly it comes equipped with Baby Jogger’s patented quick-fold technology that allows me fold it up with one hand! Once folded, it’s also super flat for easy storage in cars, planes or on public transit.

Plus, unlike umbrella strollers and most other compact strollers, the City Mini GT has 8.5-inch tires designed for all-terrain use. In the last 10 months I’ve logged hundreds of kilometers on this stroller, through snow, gravel, grass and more, and never once have I been stuck.

I should mention that somewhere along the way, the left side brake stopped working (I’m afraid I’m not mechanically-inclined enough to explain the brake issue any more specifically than that.) Thankfully, the problem was short-lived thanks to excellent customer service from Baby Jogger’s Canadian distributor, through whom all warranty issues are handled. Replacement parts and easy-to-follow (says hubby) instructions were mailed to us within a matter of days, and a few minutes later we had a stroller in perfect working condition.

Other standout features on the City Mini GT include a huge sun canopy with two clear viewing windows, a convenient hand break, height-adjustable handlebar and a reclining seat suitable even for newborns.

The cons – of which, the small under-seat storage basket is definitely the most significant – exist, but they are far outweighed by the benefits of this versatile stroller.

For anyone who travels or just wants the convenience of a lightweight, easy-to-fold stroller, the City Mini GT is an excellent choice.

And so remains the question - What kind of stroller do you have? Do you love it?
